Joe Cain's Home Page

This is the home page of Joseph. P. Cain, Editor, Golfer and Photographer. None of these activities are performed in professional capacity but all contribute to my life as a Professional Loafer, a synonym for "retired person".

Joe the Editor

My editorial operations started in Montreal with a small one page mimeographed sheet for a local organization but really became my own personal venture when I introduced a Newsletter for the condominium owners at Royalcrest Apartments. It is still being published by a comittee and is still called "The Crest". My current venture into wearing an editor's hat came about with my introduction to computers in 1988 and to Desktop Publishing soon thereafter. My current sheet is the "Natural Inquirer" which is a newsletter of family activity distributed to family members and friends. This is now an international publication read from coast to coast.

Joe The Golfer

This activity started when I was about 10 years old when my mother an avid golfer and sports enthusiast handed me a golf club and told me to try and hit the ball toward a flag about 90 yards away. This resulted in my first and only hole-in-one and I never touched another club till a few years later when I was a caddy at Montreal's Summerlea Golf Club. Today I love to golf but have never become proficient enough to even break t100 barrier. But I will keep trying. When I do it will surely make headlines in the Natural Inquirer

Joe The Photographer

Another love that started with a kodak box camera and a christmas gift of a Kodak Reflex. My first real camera was a Ricoh 35mm which I bought in 1942 for the princely sum of $85 which was a huge outlay for a kid just out of High School. I have since added a Minolta Autocord and a Canon single lens reflex. 90% of my shots are family record shots and the other 10% a very amateur attempt at what I considered art scenes etc.
