Goodbye to a special friend

Sloan came in on October 9, 2009. Sloan was a handsome pure white with blue eyes who passed away on December 21, 2009. Sloan had Leukemia and the brother of Slade who passed away recently. I guess Sloan was saying his goodbyes yesterday but we are never prepared for it. Yesterday when D'Arcy came home from rehearsal we sat down to watch a movie and Sloan cuddled with D'Arcy then with me. Then he sat between us and watched the rest of the movie with us.

This morning I sensed something was wrong because Sloan always comes for his food when he hears the cat bowls clinging on the counter even if I give him his interferon before his food.

I searched the house with no luck. Eventually, to my dismay I found Sloan huddled in a corner behind some blankets in our linen closet. So I guess Sloan went to see his brother Slade.

Sloan, you will be missed.
